I have been a friend of Stu and his family since 1975. We have had so many shared memories of him and his family since that time such as Chris hitting me below the belt when 1st introduced to him, Keri's hot dog slipping out of the bun at a Brewer's game after dad waited an inning to purchase it (Keri dare not ask for another one), Chris catching a walleye while dad and I told him it was only a stump, and Keri getting nailed by a fishing lure in the neck when Cora told Stu don't take the kids down to the pier. We as a family had a lot of good laughs together.
I personally will miss Stu as a true friend. I remember in September 1998 visiting him in the hospital on a Monday evening. I remember this day distinctly since he was waiting for a heart transplant, which he received later that evening. While we where alone, he told me his goal was only to make it to Keri's wedding. Son of a gun, he not only made it to that date but also Chris' wedding and then to add more fuel to the fire, he was able to watch 4 beautiful and wonderful grandchildren grow up. What more can one ask.
We will miss him, but as I told him a week earlier, we will remain friends with Cora and do things with her. Are thoughts are with the Paulson family.
Stu - when you find that fishing hole in heaven, save some fish for me.
Love, Diane and John Mann
