Richard Kenneth Fought's Obituary
Richard “Dick” K. Fought, 70, passed away at Wheaton Ascension – All Saints Healthcare on June 12, 2018.
Dick was born in Racine to the late Richard and Victoria (nee Jung) Fought on April 26, 1948. He was a graduate of Washington Park High School, class of 1966.
Dick was employed by Racine Steel Castings Co. for 26 years and served as the UAW Local 553 President for many years. He also worked at the Racine Labor Center for 18 years. Dick contributed to the Labor community in a variety of capacities throughout his working years. He volunteered hundreds of hours per year throughout his retirement. Dick was named “Labor Person of the Year” in 1989. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and liked to play poker. Dick enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an outdoor enthusiast with a great love and understanding for all life on earth.
Dick is survived by his loving son, Rick of Racine; sisters: Pamela (Barry) Schultz of AZ, Sharon (Terry) Schultz of Racine and Victoria Bishop of Racine; Lynn DeGarmo, daughter of the late Nancy DeGarmo, Dick’s longtime soulmate; grandchildren, Selena, Deon, T.J. and Marquis; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, June 19, 2018 with a visitation from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A memorial service will begin at 7:00 P.M.
