I have fond memories of spending time at Aunt Mary and Uncle Peter's house, especially at Christmas. There were always piles of presents and lots of laughter. I loved how Mary and Peter smiled at each other, knowing they were making memories. Then spending the night sharing a bed with Geri, talking and giggling, sharing dreams and secrets late into the night.
I cherish the rosary Aunt Mary gave me a few years ago. It was a gift to her from my Mom, her sister Pat, when Mary stood up in my parent's wedding. I was so very touched by her generous gift. It is the rosary I use, each time remembering my Mom and Mary with love.

One of Nana Mary's favorite things was her love for music. She especially enjoyed her Saturday morning church when My Mom would pack up her guitar and gather the residents around the fire place and sing songs everyone knows from church hymns, oldies, country and Elvis. Nana Mary was my Moms side kick always sitting right by her side She may not have remembered lots of things but she remembered how to sing all the words to the music. She will live on through my Mom's voice, but Saturdays will never be the same.
I met Mary at Pleasant Pointe where she had a room right across from my Dad. She was such a happy and joyful person and although I didn't know her well, I could tell that she had a zest for life and she was always so kind to everyone around her. I could see the love she had for her daughter when Geri would come on Saturdays to play the guitar and sing with the residents!
