Martha Ann Hilgers' Obituary
Racine - Martha Ann Hilgers, age 83, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Ascension All Saints.
Martha was born on March 12, 1942, to the late Walter and Arline (nee Kaiser) Rosenbaum. She was united in marriage to Eugene Hilgers on April 10, 1964. They were married for 23 years until his passing on November 5, 1987.
Throughout her life, Martha held various positions at Castle Lanes Bowling Center in Racine. She served on the Racine Woman’s Bowling Association Board and was the Junior Coach for the Castle Lanes' Youth Bowling Program, which she ran until her health no longer allowed. To recognize her many accomplishments and dedication to the sport, Martha was inducted into the Greater Racine Bowling Hall of Fame.
Martha enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crafting, gambling, and cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters: Debbie (Scott) Venne; Jodi (Jim) Larsen; and Stacy (Nolan Wallner); grandchildren: Dakota, Teigan, Jami, Logan, Tyler, Jimmy, and Madison; great-grandchild, Quin; brother, Al Rosenbaum; sister, Pearl (Richard) Kiehlbauch; sisters-in-law, Mae Hilgers and Lyn Rosenbaum; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hilgers; brother, Larry Rosenbaum; sister-in-law, Pat Rosenbaum; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Rose) Hilgers and Herman Hilgers.
A celebration of Martha’s life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home. For those planning on attending, the family requests that everyone wear casual clothing and represent their favorite Wisconsin sports team. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Martha’s name may be directed to the American Heart Association and/or the National Kidney Foundation.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses, PCT's and staff from Ascension All Saints, especially the Intensive Care Unit, for their compassion, care, and dedication.
