Genevieve "Jean" Mary Brehm's Obituary
Racine-Genevieve “Jean” Mary Brehm, 87, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at Ascension All Saints surrounded by her family.
Jean was born to the late Walter and Mary (nee Kaczynski) Dorf on March 5, 1935, in Racine. She was united in marriage to John “Jack” Brehm on May 18, 1957, also in Racine. Jack and Jean were married for 55 years until Jack’s passing in July of 2012.
Jean enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing dominoes. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events and concerts. Jean enjoyed watching basketball and was an avid Milwaukee Bucks fan. She was also an avid birdwatcher. Above all, Jean loved her family and cherished every moment she had with them.
Jean will be deeply missed by her loving children: Ann (James) Kapellusch, Edward (Elizabeth) Brehm, Thomas (Denise) Brehm, and Joanie Ogura; grandchildren: John, Lauren, Evan, Connor, Catelyn, T.J., and Jess; great-grandchildren: Genevieve, Jack, Michael, Fred, Joe, and Bodhi; sister, Helen (William) Dombrowski; along with several other relatives and friends.
Jean is predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” Brehm; son, David Brehm; infant daughter, Susan; and brother, Joseph (Joan) Dorf.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jean will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church with Fr. Terry Huebner officiating. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Racine. Memorials in Jean’s name may be directed to St. Catherine’s High School (1200 Park Ave, Racine, WI 53403) and /or St. Lucy’s School and Parish (3035 Drexel Ave, Racine, WI 53403).
