Danyl Peter Jensen's Obituary
Danyl Peter Jensen, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Born in Racine on June 21, 1960, Danyl was the beloved son of the late Leslie and Deanna (nee Zaehler) Jensen. He carried with him the strong values of hard work, loyalty, and dedication throughout his life.
Danyl proudly served his country in the United States Marines. Following his service, he spent most of his working years as an ironworker, a profession that suited his strength, skill, and tireless work ethic. He was a man who could fix, build, or figure out just about anything. Rarely sitting still, Danyl was always on the go, happiest when he had a project in front of him or a plan for the next day.
On May 22, 1990, Danyl was united in marriage to Cheryl Perkins. Together they built a life centered on love and family.
Danyl had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting whenever he had the chance. Above all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. He loved to talk and was always eager to share his knowledge, stories, and advice with friends and family. Whether over a cup of coffee and peanut butter toast or in the middle of a lively conversation, Danyl’s presence was unmistakable and warmly felt.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Cheryl; his children, Mike (Timberly) Hoecherl, David (Amber) Kuhagen Sr., and Thomas Kuhagen; his sisters, Dawn Jurkiewicz and Kay Jensen; his brother, Daryl Jensen; his 12 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Danyl was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kristy Jensen; and his grandchild, Thomas Kuhagen Jr.
Danyl will be remembered for his strong hands, generous heart, steady guidance, and the countless conversations that will echo in the memories of those who loved him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
