Allen Krueger's Obituary
Allen Krueger, formerly of Rhinelander, WI peacefully passed away at Timber Oaks in Union Grove on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the strong age of 99 years.
Allen was born in Suring, WI to the late Arnold and Emma (nee Jeske) Krueger on July 26, 1921. His primary schooling was at St. John’s Lutheran and he graduated from Suring High School. Allen went to the Dakotas to work in the grain harvest. He then moved back to Northern Wisconsin, foresting with the Civilian Conservation Corps. (CCC) camps. In the 1940’s, Allen was in two dance bands playing drums.
Allen joined the United States Navy in 1946 during World War II where he learned to be an electrician. He was among the first crew to serve on the USS Johnston. He was honorably discharged in 1948. After serving in the military, Allen was united in marriage to Lenore Inger Framnes on her birthday, April 3, 1948 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Green Valley, WI. They moved to Racine because the industrial employment was thriving. Allen had many enjoyable times camping and traveling together with his family. Allen loved fishing and hunting with his sons, Mark and Jerry. He especially enjoyed their fishing trips to Canada.
Allen worked as an electrician for 45 years before moving to Monico, WI in 1984. He was employed by the town of Monico from 1986 until his retirement in 2011 at the age of 90. Allen was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rhinelander, WI and served as an Usher at the age of 96. When WXPR radio station started a new program “Life After Ninety 90,” Allen was proud to be the first person to be interviewed.
Allen will be lovingly remembered by his children: Gerald (Linda) Krueger of Tigerton, Barbara (Alan) Zuehlke of Jefferson, Mark (Denise) Krueger of Yorkville, and Karen (Lewis) Schultz of Racine; grandchildren: Gwen (Michael) Williams of Marion, William Krueger of Madison, Drew (Kelly) Zuehlke of Minneapolis, MN, Chad (Emma) Zuehlke of Waukesha, and Jacob Krueger of Yorkville; great-grandchildren: Joshua and Dalton Williams, Colette Krueger, and Zoe and Zaryah Zuehlke; sister, Pauline (Howard) King; sister-in-law, Mary Framnes; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Allen was predeceased by his wife, Lenore on February 6, 2008; brother, Roy (Harriet) Krueger; sisters: Rose (Walter) Hein, Betty (Gerald) Whiting, and Shirley (Robert) Ruelle; brother-in-law, Clifford Framnes; and sister-in-law, Ruby (Marvin) Lehrke.
A private celebration of Allen’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home. Allen will be reunited with Lenore at Northland Memorial Park Cemetery in Rhinelander.
