Alice Sonntag
RACINE—Alice Sonntag (nee: Howarth), 90, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2014.
Alice was born on January 25, 1924 to the late John Howarth and Alma Schroeder in Yorkville, Wisconsin.
She was united in marriage to John R. Blankman on January 15, 1943, at First United Methodist Church. He passed away on September 12, 1971.
Alice was then united in marriage to Tony “Dutch” Sonntag on April 12, 1980, at Atonement Lutheran Church. He passed away on March 1, 2006.
Alice was a hard worker, holding numerous jobs and working until she was 83 years old. She also loved to travel the world and the United States. Alice enjoyed gambling, and visited many casinos during her life.
Alice will be dearly missed by her children, Alma (Clifford) Vacek, Jeffrey Blankman of Eagle, Wi., Richard (Kay) Blankman, Clara (Pete) Walter of Muskego, Wi., and Lisa Blankman; eight grand children; sixteen great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ann Howarth of Plano, Texas; And lifelong friend, Ethel Razdik, who never forgot her.
Alice was preceded in death by her first husband, John Blankman: her second husband, Anton “Dutch” Sonntag: and her brothers and sisters.
A celebration of Alice’s life will be held on Friday December 19, 2014 at 11:00AM at Atonement Lutheran Church with Pastor Warren Williams officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
In Lieu of flowers, all memorials may be directed to Hospice Alliance, Ridgewood Care Center, or Atonement Lutheran Church.
