Dr. William L. Watrous' Obituary
Mount Pleasant- Dr. William L. Watrous, 81, passed away at Oak Creek Seasons Hospice on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
Bill was born to the late Floyd and Louise Watrous on June 15, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio. He spent his youth in Huntington, Indiana. Bill was an excellent athlete; he exceled in track and field, basketball, and baseball. He lettered in all of these varsity sports and was especially noted for his pitching in baseball. Bill was also inducted into the Huntington County All-Sports Hall of Fame. He graduated from Ball State University, achieving his B.S. and M.S. degrees in biological sciences. Bill then attended Purdue University, where he received his Ph.D. in microbiology and biochemistry in 1972. After receiving his degree, Bill spent the rest of his working career at Kraft Foods in Glenview, Illinois; and Ralston Purina in St. Louis, Missouri. Later, he began working for Chr. Hansen in West Allis, Wisconsin.
Bill will be missed by his loving wife, Dorothy Johnson; his former wife, Becky Ayres; and their sons: Bradley, Bryan, Brendon, and Brandt; and his grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his sister Janice Keith, and brother Melvin Watrous.
