William Richard Sorensen's Obituary
Racine - William Richard Sorensen, 92, passed away peacefully at his home on August 30, 2024.
William was born to William and Caroline (nee Neibor) Sorensen on February 7, 1932, in Racine. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Kalinowski on August 15, 1951, at St. Rita Parish in Racine.
William worked as an inspector for Twin Disc Manufacturing in Racine until his retirement. Before this, he worked at Oster Manufacturing. In his younger days, William enjoyed fishing off the pier, a hobby that brought him peace and joy. During his retirement, he found new passions in woodworking with his wife. He was also a card player and always had a story to share.
William had a special way with people, and he loved them deeply. His "take it easy" mentality was a guiding force in his life, helping him navigate the ups and downs with grace and a sense of humor. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the way he could light up a room with his presence.
William will be lovingly remembered by his six children: Bill (Melody) Sorensen, David Sorensen, Donald Sorensen, Daniel Sorensen, Jean (Paul) Hudec, and Lynn Sterbin. William is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his devoted caregiver and David's girlfriend, Karen Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn, parents, and his siblings.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Compassus Hospice for their exceptional care and support during William’s final days.
In honor of William's memory, his family invites you to remember him by sharing your own stories, playing a hand of cards, or simply taking a moment to "take it easy" and enjoy the beauty of life.
