William O. Johnson Sr.'s Obituary
Racine – William O. Johnson Sr., 84, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
William was born in Racine on July 31, 1941, to the late Oliver and Jeannette (nee Overman) Johnson, and lived in Racine and Mount Pleasant all of his life. He graduated from Washington Park High School in 1959 and received a degree from Chicago Technical College in 1962. On June 29, 1963 he was married to the love of his life, Charlotte Wynstra, at the First Reformed Church in Racine, Wisconsin. Together they built a strong and faith-filled life, centered on their love for each other and their devotion to God.
William was employed at Walker Forge Inc., where after serving as a draftsman for 10 years he became an Engineering Supervisor, a position from which he retired in 1992 after 31 years. He then operated his own business as a handyman until 2003. His hobbies included biking, woodworking, writing, and maintaining his antique car. William attended CrossWay Church in Bristol, Wisconsin.
William will be deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte Johnson; sons William (Kristin) Johnson Jr. of Somers and Stephen (Siali) Johnson of Mount Pleasant; favorite daughter, Sharon (John) Auer of Mount Pleasant; seven grandchildren: Nicholas Orth, Tiffany (Jorge) Rivera, Samantha (Rory) Wooten, Brittney Orth, Neil Johnson, Alexander Beiley, and Oliver Johnson; great-grandchildren: Joseph, Arianna, Maximus, Brendan, Isabella, Damien, Nala, Samson, Kya, Maryellen and Rylan, among other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Ascension All Saints, for their exceptional care of William.
A celebration of William’s life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Brett Wendle from CrossWay Community Church officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at Wilson Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
