William Helling's Obituary
Mr. Helling, 79, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at Washington Manor in Kenosha. He was born in Racine on Aug. 7, 1928 to the late Henry and Dorathea (nee: Bluett) Helling. He lived all of his life in Racine. He was united in marriage to the former Beverly Petersen in Racine at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church on Sept. 29, 1951. She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2001.
He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by S. C. Johnson for over 30 years as a Quality Control Chemist retiring in 1987. He was a charter member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Belle City Lodge 92, S.C. Johnson 20 year Club, proud member of the Ridgerunners Square Dancers. He volunteered for many years at the R.E.S.T. program, which is now H.A.L.O.
He is survived by his children, Tom Helling, Karen (Stan) Breiwick, Jeri (Gary) Scott, Jayne (Dale) Armbruster, Tim (Cat) Helling, six grandchildren, Jamie (Jessica) Breiwick, Emily Breiwick, Eric and David Carroll, Ellys Armbruster, Charlie Helling, two great-grandchildren, Nathan Michael and Jack William Breiwick, other relatives and many friends also survive. A brother, Byron Helling, preceded him in death.
A Memorial service will be held at Mt Pleasant Lutheran Church 1700 South Green Bay Rd on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Inurnment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Helling to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church have been suggested.
