Condolences to Carolyn and all
Bill loved life so much, he even kept his teddy in a seat belt.💗💗
I'm Pastor Jeffrey L Grant who served as the Interim Pastor for First Church of God in Racine, WI for a seven month tenure. It was my affiliation with First Church that connected me with Bill's sister Renee as well as his sister Daryl.
After spending some time getting to know Renee strictly through Social Media (mainly due to the Covid outbreak) she shared with me that her brother Bill was going through some very difficult physical trials, and that he had just had surgery. Moved by compassion I asked if I could visit Bill in order to offer him encouragement, and to pray with him, and she was very excited by my offer.
I visited Bill right after his last surgery, and it was an absolutely wonderful visit! I was actually the one encouraged by Bill's tremendous faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He talked very little about his own misfortunes, but mostly talked about how great God is. Although his physical body was failing, his mental, emotional, and spiritual disposition was amazingly thriving.
The more we chatted the more we got to know each other, and of course there was a powerful spiritual connection which gave us both a sense that we have always known each other. I shared with my brother that the Lord led me into a book writing ministry, and that I was in the middle of writing two Christian books. Bill was very interested in that, and he asked if I could come again and share what I had written so far. I was blessed, and honored by his request, and of course I said I would be happy to do that for him. I tok Bill's hand and closed the visit by leading us together in prayer, and it was a very special experience of which I will never forget.
Unfortunately for me the Lord never gave us the next opportunity for a visit. Although I was disappointed I could not return to see Bill again, and share my works with him I am delighted for my brother who is with the Lord Jesus today and forever more. There is great blessing and joy in my heart when I think about our visit as well as knowing that my brother Bill is in a much better place than this World, and there will be a day we will stand together side by side, arms around our backs as we worship our creator together for all Eternity. God speed my brother!
