William “Bill” M. Ballantyne
Waterford – William MacKay Ballantyne, age 97, passed away on October 12, 2014 in Racine.
Bill was born in Racine, Wisconsin on August 12, 1917 to William MacKay Ballantyne and Margaret Heather (nee: Brown) Ballantyne. He was united in marriage to Martha Ellen (Nee: Tree) Ballantyne on November 21, 1940, in Racine.
He was a Partner in Tree Machine Tool Company for many years retiring 1980. He was a past member of Calvary Memorial Church in Racine and attended the Moravian Church of Ephraim and the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Alfred, Florida. He enjoyed spending his retirement living in Door County, Florida and finally in Waterford. He had a love for landscaping design, especially rock work, and spent many hours executing projects both for himself and others. Bill lived a long and fruitful life, but was definitely looking forward to “going Home”. He will be sadly missed!
Bill is survived by his children; Thomas, Tad (Rachel Jensen), John (his late wife, Diana Martinez), all of Racine, and Susan (Peter) Betts of Waterford; grandchildren; Becky (Steve) Gehrig, Scott (Suzanne) Ballantyne, Margaret Ballantyne, Emily Bencriscutto, Julie (Troy) Kirchner, Drew Mackay Ballantyne and his fiancée, Courtney Wilkens and Ian MacKay Ballantyne; great-grandchildren, Sage, Sophia, Jennifer, Christine and Peyton; great-great-grandchildren, Ami and Craig; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; and his brother, James (Ethel) Ballantyne.
A Memorial Celebration in honor of Bill will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:00 am until the service begins. Memorials to the Helping Hands Food Pantry of Norway Lutheran Church have been suggested
