Wanda Sorensen's Obituary
Mrs. Sorensen, 96, passed away at Becker-Shoop Center on Thursday, May 29, 2008. She was born to the late Albert J. and Anna E. (nee: Goheen) Schultz in Rhinelander on Feb. 23, 1912. She graduated from High School in 1930 when the great depression hit. She worked in Rhinelander, Washington D.C. and Milwaukee retiring from the Roberts Company of Milwaukee in 1974 after 21 years of service.
Wanda married Robert Sorensen of Racine in 1957. Together they enjoyed the culture and community of Racine and traveled extensively including trips throughout the U.S. and abroad to Mexico and Denmark.
She was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church.
Wanda is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and William Langen, St. Cloud, MN. three grandchildren, Timothy (Amy) Langen, Columbia, MO., Beka Langen, L.A. CA., Jesse Langen, Chicago, three great-grandchildren; and one sister Chloe Desch of Rhinelander. She was also very close to her niece on her husband's side, Judy Sorensen of Racine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sorensen; sister, Heloise Brusso and a brother, John Orval Schultz.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Barrow officiating. Entombment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Crypts on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11a.m. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
