Walter "Wally" Harold Yelczyn's Obituary
Mount Pleasant – Walter “Wally” Harold Yelczyn, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove.
Wally was born on July 4, 1944, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Michael and Lucille (Riese) Yelczyn. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and later retired from Bombardier Recreational Products in Sturtevant.
Known for his quick wit and great sense of humor, Wally brought laughter to those around him. He was a true family man who enjoyed camping, flying model airplanes, and building his own firearms. Always willing to lend a hand, Wally was the go-to person for fixing things and helping with projects — a handyman through and through.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Patricia Riese and Randall (Lori) Riese; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Lawrence Yelczyn; former spouse, Gloria Yelczyn; along with many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Wally was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard “Dick” Yelczyn and Jerry “Skip” Yelczyn.
In keeping with Wally’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and the family will honor his life privately.
