Walter Singstock's Obituary
Mr. Singstock, 85, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 at Ridgewood Care Center. He was born in Marshfield, WI on Aug. 16, 1922 to the late Leo Albert Carl and Louise Amanda (nee: Schwandt) Singstock. He lived in Racine since 1940. He was united in marriage to the former Helen Rasmussen in Winona, MN on May 9, 1942.
He served in the United States Army serving in the Pacific for 3 years. He was employed at J.I. Case Co, for 23 years retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the VFW in Sturtevant, J.I.Case 20 year club and was an usher for many years at Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his son, Alan Walter (Patty) Singstock, daughter, Gail Helene (Mark) Lehman, four granddaughters, Erin (Steve) Lysen, Alicia (Aaron) Stratman, Abby (Marcus) Poplawski, Amanda (Gary) Newhard, great-grandchildren, Marek and Greta Poplawski, Avaree and Alexa Stratman, Sawyere and Savannah Newhard. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helen on Oct. 8, 2003 and a great-granddaughter, Elise Poplawski on April 23, 2005.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Pam Kerschner officiating. Private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday evening from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service. The family invites their friends and relatives to help them celebrate Walter's life after the service at Mike and Angelos 6214 Washington Ave.
