Margaret (Gosia)
Mr. Braatz was a grandfather-like gift to the children in our family. He was busy yet content in spirit. Whether fishing or hunting, he was always respectful of nature and others. He was not a man of many words, but he didn't have to be. Through grade school, I will always remember planting onions with him in the spring, or, at least, watching him and him allowing me to plant a bundle or two, saying that he could eat them like apples. He enjoyed watching football. Now, as sad as it is for us, he is free from age and ailment and able to return to the fields somewhere. We will miss him!
