Thomas George Lloyd's Obituary
Mount Pleasant - Thomas George Lloyd, 77, passed away peacefully with his loving wife and caring granddaughters at his side on January 16, 2024.
Thomas was born in Racine on October 12, 1946, to Uriah and Deloris (nee Krezinski) Lloyd. He attended Washington Park High School. Thomas was united in marriage to Diane R. Daly on March 27, 1965, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Racine. Thomas was employed by InSinkErator as a supervisor for 34 years. He retired on January 4, 2010.
Thomas had many things on his bucket list and was able to achieve them all. When Thomas was younger, he spent a lot of time as a private pilot and was also a licensed scuba diver. Thomas and Diane enjoyed taking many trips together, Door County being one of their favorite places. One of Thomas’ most talked about trips to friends and family was when he traveled to Wales with his brother, Jeffrey. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Thomas was a handyman and appreciated building, fixing, and helping anyone in need. Most importantly, he adored spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially watching them play sports.
Thomas will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Diane R. Lloyd; children: Michael Lloyd, Kevin Lloyd, and Shelly Lloyd; grandchildren: Jessica (Anthony) Parenteau, Jennifer Rocco, and Jami Becker; great grandchildren: Kaiden, Paxton, and Alana; brothers and sisters: Sheila Johnson, Sharon Roberts, Jeffrey (Sheri) Lloyd, Jerrold (Renee) Lloyd, Donald (Sandy) Lloyd, Peggy Sue Klausch, Pamela Lloyd, and Jacqueline (Brian) Woiteshek; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Uriah and Deloris Lloyd; brother, Mark Lloyd and his son (nephew) Shannon Lloyd; and brothers-in-law: John Johnson, Donald Roberts, and Joel Klausch.
Thomas was diagnosed with stage five kidney failure in the summer of 2017. After being on dialysis for six and one-half years, Thomas made the choice to start in home hospice surrounded by his loved ones. His wishes were to have an intimate, private celebration of life which was held on Sunday January 21, 2024. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin, 10909 W. Greenfield Avenue #201, West Allis, WI 53214, or visit www.kidneywi.org to donate online.
Diane and Thomas’ grandchildren would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care in Racine and DaVita Willow Creek Dialysis in Mount Pleasant. A big thank you to the staff at Hospice Alliance, especially, Eileen, RN, Alesha, CNA, and Chaplin Charlie for their kind compassion and empathy provided to Thomas and his family.
