Thomas Clyde Bertling's Obituary
Racine-Thomas “Tom” Clyde Bertling, 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Villa at Lincoln Park.
Tom was born to the late Donald and Nellie (Nee Bowlsby) Bertling on August 21, 1943, in Kenosha. He was united in marriage to Ann Rakauskas on January 9, 1965, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He worked as a courier for several Racine area hospitals.
Tom was a faithful member of Faithbridge Church and the Racine Churchman’s Club. He enjoyed volunteering for the Boy Scouts and the Neighborhood Watch Program. Tom also volunteered and dressed up as McGruff the Crime Dog. He enjoyed watching gameshows such as Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Tom was a kind and quiet gentleman who loved his family with all his heart.
Tom will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Ann Bertling; sons: Greg Bertling and Ted (Dionne) Bertling; grandchildren: Bace and Evey; nephew, David; brother-in-law, Marty (Pam) Rakauskas; along with several other relatives and friends.
Tom is predeceased by his son, Matthew Bertling.
A memorial service for Tom will be held at Faithbridge Church-Franksville Campus on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Fleming officiating. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Memorials in Tom’s name may be directed to the family.
