Spencer Nelson's Obituary
Racine - Mr. Spencer M. Nelson, 75, passed away at Willowcrest Nursing Home in South Milwaukee on Friday, December 26, 2008.
Spencer Nelson was born in Mauston to Marvin L. and Helen A. (nee: Erb) Nelson on April 2, 1933. In Racine, he was united in marriage to Barbara P. Holtz on August 13, 1955 and had been a resident of Racine for over 54 years.
Mr. Nelson was employed at Wisconsin Pattern Company for 35 years until his retirement in1994. He was an active member of the First Church of God and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Nativity Scene, Board of Directors for Jack and Jill, and took active parts in the Day Care Center and Youth for Christ Board.
Spencer is survived by his wife, Barbara; three children, Phyllis (Larry) Brick, Pamella Nelson, and Patrick (Heidi) Nelson; seven grandchildren, Maegan Brick, Jerrod Brick, Deidra Brick, Marla Brick, Brittany Nelson, Spencer Nelson, and Noah Nelson. He is also survived by his mother, Helen Nelson and two sisters, Shirley (Jimmy) Booth and Gloria (Duane) Stimes. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Nelson and his brother, William Dean Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at The First Church of God, 1650 Lathrop Ave. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 1:00 pm. with Pastor David Andrews officiating. Internment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home on Monday evening, December 29, 2008, from 5 until 7 pm. and also at the church on Tuesday morning from 12:30 pm until the time of service.
