Sherry-Rae Fell's Obituary
Sherry-Rae (nee Fenstermacher) Fell, 74 from Racine, WI passed away at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice on Sunday, July 1, 2018.
On April 12, 1944, Sherry was born in Racine to Everett Raymond and Laverne Jeanne (nee Lange) Fenstermacher. Sherry graduated from Park High School in Racine and from Gateway Technical College in Kenosha as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Sharing the nursing profession with both her mother, Laverne, and her younger daughter, Rae-Anne, Sherry worked for the Racine School District as an elementary school nurse for many years.
Sherry enjoyed a lifelong love of horses, owning four of her own as a teenager—and cheering on her granddaughter, Tami, at last year’s 4-H State Horse Show. She also owned many dogs and cats over the years. Sherry loved visiting formal gardens, but she could not manage to keep a houseplant alive for more than a week. She loved traveling to Wisconsin scenic and historic sites, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. Sherry was a devout Seventh Day Adventist and an officer of the Racine SDA Church for many years. She enjoyed going to annual summer camp meetings in Westfield, WI.
Sherry is survived by her two daughters, DeAnne (nee Wildes) (Todd) Mickelson and Rae-Anne (nee Wildes) (Tim) Finley; her grandchildren: William Hunchberger, Joshua Mickelson, and Tamera Mickelson; her younger sister, Judy Ann (Mike) Drought; her niece, Dara Drought, and her grandnephews, Nolan and Brendon Wilde.
She was preceded in death by her (firstborn) infant son, Gilbert Walker Wildes, III and her husband, Francis (Frank) Fell.
Funeral services in Sherry’s honor will be held at Racine Seventh Day Adventist Church (1810 Durand Avenue) on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday, July 5, at Wilson Funeral Home (1212 Lathrop Ave.) from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Friday, July 6, at Racine Seventh Day Adventist Church, from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Sherry will be laid to rest next to Frank at West Lawn Memorial Park during a private ceremony.
