Sharon Lee Nicikowski's Obituary
Racine - Sharon Lee Nicikowski, 86, passed away at Ascension – All Saints Hospital on September 6, 2022.
Sharon was born in Racine to Alvin and Margaret (nee Pavlik) Christensen on February 26, 1936. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1954 of which was the school’s 25th year anniversary. In Racine at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Sharon was united in marriage to Theodore E. Nicikowski on September 5, 1959. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2012.
In her earlier years of employment, Sharon worked as a bank teller at US Bank. When her children were born, she stayed home to take care of family. After 23 years of employment at Larsen’s Bakery in West Racine, Sharon retired at the age of 58, in 1992. After her retirement, she volunteered in the lab at Ascension – All Saints Hospital for 10 years.
Sharon and her husband enjoyed traveling to many casinos, nearly visiting all in Wisconsin. They also made trips to other casinos in the Midwest. Their favorite casinos were in Las Vegas. Sharon relished traveling to San Francisco, especially to visit her adopted granddaughter. Sharon was an avid reader. She enjoyed dining out for lunch and dinner with her children. She was affectionally known as, “The Tomato Lady” because of her love for tomatoes. Sharon’s favorite past-time was watching Days of Our Lives with her friends, of which an episode was never missed.
Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sheri; her son, Teron; brothers-in-law: Walter Meehan and Bernard Nicikowski; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Margaret Christensen; and infant daughter, Jana Mary on August 13, 1960; and a sister, Joani Meehan.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 15, 2022, beginning with a visitation at 10:00 am.
