Sandra Theresa Thew's Obituary
Sturtevant- Sandra Theresa (nee: Muehleck) Thew, 74, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 at home surrounded by family and friends after a 10 year battle with cancer.
She was born on February 16, 1938 in Waukesha to the late Anton Muehleck and Ethel (nee: Chase) Nelson. She graduated from Waukesha Central High School in 1956. Sandra was united in marriage to Gerald Thew on May 28, 1960. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2009.
She was the proud mother of six children. Later in life, she returned to school to become a nurse. Through her nursing career, she worked in area hospitals, nursing homes, and finally as a home health care provider.
Sandra is survived by her children, Greg (Claudia) Thew, Keith (Kimmarie) Thew, Brad (Janna) Thew, Donna (Doug Funk) Thew, Walter (Genelle) Thew, and Dawn (Gordon) Fugate; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth Muehleck; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Sandra would get a spark in her eye and a spring in her step while visiting with her children and while watching her grandchildren grow up- especially up.
Services in honor of Sandra will be held at a later date.
