Sandra Cicchini Poplawski's Obituary
Sandra Lee Cicchini - Poplawski, 67, died Tuesday March 11, 2008 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Racine.
Sandra was born to the late Frank and Eva (Bilotti) Cicchini on July 12, 1940 in Kenosha. She lived most of her life in Racine. Sandra was united in marriage to Alexander J. Poplawski on March 13, 1965.
Sandra was an active member of St. Richard's Parish and the Parish Council. She also served many years for the Racine Unified School District. Sandra enjoyed teaching, helping the underdog, sharing her ideas and never letting anyone get away with saying "I can't." She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her 5th great-grandchild, Vincent, in April.
Sandra Lee Cicchini is survived by her three children; Alexander (Becky), Gregory and Julie Poplawski all of Racine; 8 grandchildren; Ashley, Nicholas, and AJ Poplawski, Gregory (Jr), Eric Poplawski, Nicole Harris, Tuan Watkins and Christopher Shelton; 4 great- grandchildren; 3 brothers, Vincent (Marty) Cicchini of Florida, Frank (Marlene) Cicchini of Kenosha and Eddie Buttera of Kenosha; Nieces and Nephews, Jim Bob, Mary, Rob, Renee, Amy, Jessie, Jackie, Mike, Missy, Geno, Tony, Donna, Leslie and Bobby and many great nieces, great nephews, many extended relatives, friends, and Ex-Students (too many to mention).
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Alexander; her mother and father; stepmother, Emma Cicchini; one niece Gina and special friends Jim Ianello and Deanna Bull.
The Poplawski family would also like to mention some special people in Sandra's life, Vonnie Vojta, Jackie Poplawski, John Spaeth, Anita Herrera, Paul and Alison Commodore, Jackie and Hank Kusters, Pamela Mare, Robert Bull and Family.
A mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday March 15, 2008 at St. Richard's of Chichester at 10 a.m. with Father Ron Gramza officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at St. George Cemetery in Kenosha. Relatives and Friends may meet with the family on Friday March 14, 2008 at Wilson Funeral Home from 5 - 8 p.m. for a time of visitation and also from 9 a.m. until the time of services at St. Richard's on Saturday morning.
