Sally Ann Thery's Obituary
Sally Ann Thery
RACINE—Sally Ann Thery (nee: Lipp), 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2015.
Sally was born on August 22, 1930 in Racine to the late Edmund and Teresa “Teddy” (nee: Wieczorek) Lipp. She was very proud of attending St. Catherine’s High School on a scholarship awarded to her as valedictorian of St. Mary’s School. Sally married William Thery, co-founder of T&K Specialty Products with Gene Klinowitz, in 1951. Sally co-hosted a number of business events with him including an annual corn roast at their home and holiday parties at T&K. Her food never failed to impress, usually resulting in requests for recipes. Sally and Bill would have celebrated their 64th anniversary on November 3rd.
Sally was an accomplished homemaker, seamstress, cook, and mother. She and William were long time members of the 5th Street Yacht Club. They enjoyed many summers on Lake Michigan. Later, they purchased a home on South Two Lakes near Tomahawk, WI which they enjoyed with family and friends. They went on a number of cruises over the years- visiting Hawaii, the Panama Canal, and the Caribbean. Sally was an avid reader who especially enjoyed a good murder mystery.
Sally will be dearly missed by her husband of 64 years, William “Bill”; sons, William Jr. “Skip”, Tim (Karen), Steve (Missy) Thery; her daughter, Denise Knudsen; grandsons, Joshua (Sara) Cronin, and Nicholas Cronin; great-granddaughters, Paige and Aubrey Cronin; brother, Michael (Carol) Lipp; sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Elmer) Jones, Betty Murphy of Minneapolis, and Diane Lipp of Phoenix, AZ.
