Roy Stapleman's Obituary
Roy Stapleman, 83, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/All Saints on Friday, Aug. 10, 2007. He was born in Racine on Aug. 13, 1923 to the late August M. and Tresa (nee: Loterbauer) Stapleman. He lived all of his life in Racine. He was united in marriage to the former Catherine E. Fellner at St. Louis Catholic Church on Aug. 21, 1948, for nearly 59 years.
He was employed at Racine Confectionary Machine Co., A C Spark Plug and retired from Western Publishing in 1985 after 20 years as a journeyman machinist. He was a member of St. Mary's on the Lake, a former member of 5th Street Yacht Club. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, playing cards and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Stapleman; children, Linda Davies, Paul (Wendy) Stapleman, Judith (Tom) Kroes, Robert (Sue) Stapleman; seven grandchildren, Amanda Haase, Adam (Brooke) Kraft, Alexander Stapleman, Thom (Jillian) Stapleman, Stacey (David) Engevold, Rebecca (Daniel) Jaeck, Kimberly Stapleman; seven great-grandchildren, Mikayla Haase, Adison and Aden Kraft, Emily, Nicholas, Sam and Paige Engevold; one brother-in-law, John (Helen) Fellner; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Fellner, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's on the Lake 7605 Lakeshore Dr., on Monday, Aug. 13, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. with Fr. Stephen Stradinger officiating. Friends may meet with the family at the church from 5:30 p.m. until the time of service.
