Ronald C. Archibald
Racine - Ronald Charles Archibald, 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 4, 2017.
Ron was born in Zion, IL to Orville and Dorothy (nee Hoyt) Archibald on January 19, 1933. He graduated from Zion Benton Township High School, class of 1951. He attended Bob Jones University and Lake Forest College. After one year of college, he served his country in both the Army Reserve and the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ron was an Army Reservist from 1951 through 1953, when he achieved the rank of Corporal and joined the U.S. Army in Fort Hood, TX. He served until 1955 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
During his time in the military, Ron came home to marry his high school sweet heart, Patricia Lou Luoma on February 21, 1954 at the Christian Assembly of God in Zion, IL. They lived in Oklahoma from 1958 to 1965, farming wheat and cotton before moving back home. Ron became a business owner of HVAC & R Supply Co. Inc. in September of 1983. He sold his business and retired in May of 2003.
Ron was always active with church. He was a member of Christian Assembly of God and attended Lakeview Church in Zion, IL and made Calvary Memorial Church their home church when they moved to Racine. Ron was a talented trombone player, a past board member of the Zion Library and enjoyed basketball, baseball, golf and fishing, especially the Canadian fishing trips.
Ron will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 63 years; his children: Judy (Doug) Davis, Kevin (Kathy) Archibald, David (Elizabeth) Archibald and Kari (Scott) Mayhak; eleven grandchildren: Rick Davis (Asma Mohiuddin), Julie Scott, Jackie (Alej) Estrada, Kristy (Jacob) Finn, Katie (Ryan) Bovee, Kyle (Lisa) Archibald, Ryan Archibald (Muriel Kerns), Aaron Archibald, Jonathan (Melissa) Mayhak, Justin Mayhak, Jami (Matthew) Groen, great grandchildren: Jared Scott, Luke Finn, Micah Estrada, Brodie and Carla Archibald, Corbin Mayhak and three more on-the-way; his sister, Joan Hopson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeannette Vander Vlucht.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Ave. Racine, WI 53405 on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nathan James officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Ministries of Africa, 2929 Bethel Blvd., Zion, IL 60099 or to Calvary Memorial Church Ministries.
