Roger Reeve Wiersum's Obituary
Racine- Roger R. Wiersum, 73, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Hospice Alliance- Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Roger was born in Kenosha on June 19, 1940 to the late Roger C. and Marion (nee: Weyrauch) Wiersum. He was united in marriage to Pearl (nee: Gregory) on November 17, 1961.
Roger had been employed for Chrysler in Kenosha for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed history, especially the Civil War, astronomy, and jogging. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Roger also was an excellent piano player, and artist who loved to draw. But most of all, Roger will be best remembered for his excellent sense of humor.
Roger will be dearly missed by his wife, Pearl; two children, Dawn and Roger (Stephanie); and two sisters, Gale and Beverly. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Burton.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 5:00-7:00pm. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice Alliance for their kind and compassionate care of Roger.
