Roberta Wenzel's Obituary
Mount Pleasant - Roberta Wenzel (nee Johnson), age 64, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025. Roberta was born on April 5, 1960, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to the late Wallace Compton and Mary Akers.
Roberta dedicated over 40 years of her life to working as a machine operator at Eckmann Custom Products in Racine. She was united in marriage to Michael Wenzel on November 25, 1989, and together they built a loving family. Roberta was a woman of kindness, generosity, and love, always looking after her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
She had a deep passion for her family gatherings, especially 4th of July celebrations, and cherished time spent with them at Wisconsin Dells. Roberta also enjoyed quiet moments spent watching HGTV and getting help making her home improvement projects come to life. She had a soft spot for hummingbirds and delighted in making her famous taffy apple salad and banana wafer pudding for her loved ones.
Roberta will be dearly missed by her children: Michael Wenzel II, Jason (Sally) Wenzel, and Alysha (Andrew) LaFleur; her beloved grandchildren: Landon, Levi, Logan, Graham, Oliver, Hayden, Skyler, Payton, Lillyan, and Sadie; as well as her siblings: Barbra Turner and Jewell Johnson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Wenzel; her stepfather, Charles Johnson; and her siblings: Wanda Roberts, Lean Just, and Johnnie Johnson.
Roberta’s warmth, loving spirit, and devotion to family will be forever remembered. May she rest in peace, knowing how deeply she was loved by all who knew her.
A celebration of Roberta’s life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Calvary Memorial Church. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a service at 12:00 PM.
Roberta’s loving spirit, warmth, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will be cherished forever. The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Medial Center - Mount Pleasant for their compassionate care and support.
