Robert James Cassity's Obituary
Mt. Pleasant- Robert J. Cassity, 90, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at his residence.
Robert was born on December 17, 1922 to the late James and Bessie (nee: Parnell) Cassity in Danville, IL. He was proud of his family heritage, which dated back to the Revolutionary War. Robert honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII and took part in the D-Day Invasion of Europe. After the war, he was employed at Western Publishing for many years and continued working part time with his son at Cassity Tree Service until he was 89 years old.
Robert accepted Christ as his savior, and the greatest joy in life was for his family. He was known as a quiet, humble person who loved playing golf.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Sheryl (nee: Johnson); children, Brian (Debbie) Cassity, Nora (Jeff) Erlandson, and Daniel (girlfriend: Kresi Hampson) Cassity; step-children, Brian (Caroline) Acklam and Lori (boyfriend: Rob Tushoski) Vance; son-in-law, Albert Quadraccia; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Tom (Sue) Johnson; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Quadraccia; great-granddaughter, Addison Ott; two brothers and two sisters.
Private funeral services at Wilson Funeral Home and interment with full military honors were held at Southern WI Veteran's Cemetery on Thursday, February 21, 2013.
