Robert "Bob" C. Peterson's Obituary
Racine - Robert “Bob” C. Peterson was called home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2025. He died at his home with family by his side.
Bob was born in Racine to the late James and Philemon (nee Venne) Peterson on July 15, 1936. Later they moved to Couderay, WI where he attended Winter High School. While there he met his partner for life, Nancy L. Kyle.
After graduation, Bob enlisted in the United States Army and was sent to Fort Belvoir, VA for construction and drafting school. While there he and Nancy were married on July 5, 1956. Eventually he was transferred to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL as a draftsman. He worked on the rocket program with Werner von Braun.
Upon release from the Army, Bob moved back to Racine. During this time, he decided to dedicate his life to God. His faith guided his life daily as a prominent member at First Church of God. He was a diligent student of the Bible and never hesitated to help someone in need.
Bob’s career took him to P.D.I. where he designed many of the machines they sold. He stayed there until his retirement in 2000. He was an excellent carpenter. There wasn’t much he couldn’t build or fix. His hobbies included watching the Brewers and Packers, fishing, and golf. However, his passion was hunting. The highlight of each year was deer hunting up north with his son, Dan and his grandsons.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children: Dan (Linda) Peterson, Karen (Rick) Means, and Susan Mutchler; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Peterson of Pensacola, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, and a grandson, James Peterson.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, February 10, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the ceremony at 12:00 p.m. Bobs inurnment will be held privately at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Southeastern Wisconsin Youth for Christ. Please visit www.wilsonfuneralhomeinc.com to share online condolences and memories of Bob.
Bob’s legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. His unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his community will forever be remembered. Though he has left this earth, his spirit lives on in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved wife Nancy and grandson James.
