Robert N. Andersen
Racine – Robert Neil Andersen, 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 4 , 2015.
Robert was born in Racine on July 29, 1924 to the late William and Tressie (nee: Langlois) Andersen. He was united in marriage to Mary J. Myrmel at Gospel Tabernacle of Racine on August 21, 1948. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2015.
Robert was a faithful member of Calvary Memorial Church where he served in many different capacities for over 60 years. Robert worked at Massey-Harris building tractors and tanks during World War II and also as a landscaper with Coryell’s. He was employed as a glass technician and manager with Greene Glass, where he developed his passion for stained glass. He retired on December 31, 1986, to spend more time with his family whom he loved most.
Robert will be dearly missed by his children, Susan (Gary) McLain, Robert W. (Laurie) Andersen, David (Bonny) Andersen, Barbara (Steve) Mauer, Julianne (Jack) Bell and Nancy (Doug) Hastings; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Margaret (Don) Wise, Ruth Larsen, and Tom (Jean) Andersen. Robert also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Robert was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, William H. (Vena) Andersen; brother-in-law, Earl Larsen; and grandson, Douglas Hastings Jr.
Funeral Services in honor of Robert will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 10 AM at Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Avenue, with Pastor Nathan James officiating. Committal services will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park at 1:30 PM on the same day. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Wilson Funeral Home and again on Friday, April 10 from 9 AM until the time of service at 10 AM at Calvary Memorial. Memorials may be directed to Calvary Memorial Church or Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Wisconsin. Condolences may be made at www.wilsonfuneralhomeracine.com.
