Richard "Rich" George Walters' Obituary
Racine- Mr. Richard G. Walters, 90, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Hospital in Milwaukee.
Richard was born in Racine on December 4, 1922 to the late Robert and Elsa (nee: Ahrens) Walters. He was united in marriage to Margaret "Peggy" (nee: Bennett). She preceded him in death in 1984.
Rich proudly served his country as a Navigator for the Air Force during WWII in which he served as a Lt. Colonel in the European theater. After the war, he was employed with Printing Development Inc. as a chemist. Rich was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Racine. He was an avid Packer fan and loved to fish.
Rich will be dearly missed by his children, Randy (Laurie) Walters of Fence, WI, Gary Walters of Racine, and Lynne (Ray) Maus of Slinger, WI; grandchildren, Danny Walters, Lisa (James) Cole, Rachel, Adam (Alicia Miller) Maus, and Eric Maus; his sisters, Edna (Lee) Roberts and Lydia (Harvey) Erickson; brothers, Robert (Jean) Walters, Edwin (Alice) Walters and William (Darlene) Walters, brother-in-law, Einer Scheuerman, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Scheuerman and Doris (William) Spencer; brother, Arthur Walters; and daughter-in-law, Pam Walters.
Funeral services in honor of Richard will take place at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:30am. Relatives and friends will meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of service. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.
