Richard Bowman's Obituary
Racine- Mr. Richard A. Bowman, 90, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints on Friday July 10, 2009.
Richard was born on April 20, 1919 to the late Alvin and Olga (nee: Tangness) Bowman and lived his entire life in Racine. On April 19,1952 he was united in marriage to Eva Solsrud at St. Mathew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They spent 26 loving years together until she preceded him in death on December 31, 1978.
Mr. Bowman served in the Army during WWII and was employed at Knox Motors for over 40 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church and was an active member of Golden Kiwanis in which he did many charitable events.
Richard is survived by his son Richard A. (Kaaren) Bowman II; two grandsons, Rick and Jim; and a sister Carol Reilly of Clearwater Beach, FL. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Bowman will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church (2915 Wright Ave) on Tuesday July 14, 2009 at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. Warren Williams officiating. Internment will follow at Graceland cemetery. Relatives and friends can meet will the family from 5:00-7:00 pm. on Monday July 13, 2009 at Wilson Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Atonement Lutheran Church.
