Raymond Leicht's Obituary
Racine - Mr. Raymond N. leicht, 88, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday November 8, 2007.
Ray was born in Racine, Wisconsin on August 14, 1919. He was the son of Ernest and Marion (nee: Nielson) leicht and resided in Racine for most of his life. He graduated from St. Catherine's High School in 1937.
He was married to the former Margaret Helen Burns in Amarillo Texas on February 23, 1943. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1941 through 1945. Ray was a Radar Technician with the B-29, 20th Air Force Bomber Group in the Eastern Pacific Theater.
He worked for the Frank luxem & Company, wholesale distributors of fruit, vegetable, beer and selected grocery items and managed the luxem Fruit & Produce Company of Kenosha.
He also worked for the horlick's Corporation for twenty years as Manager of Purchasing, Production Control and Production Scheduling.
For ten years, prior to retiring in 1984, he was employed by McGraw-Edison Company - Area Lighting Division as Manager of Purchasing.
He was a former President of the Racine Association of Industrial Purchasing Agents and past President of the Racine Easter Seal Society.
Ray was an avid golfer and a member of the Washington Park Senior Men's Golf League. He was also an avid sports fan, particularly baseball and the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret; and his son, John leicht and his wife Debra; sister, Margaret mccombs; sisters-in-law, ellie leicht and verl Burns; treasured nieces and nephews and many fine friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dr. Daniel leicht; brothers August, reuel and wife evalyn and Ernest and wife Helen.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Richards of chichester Catholic Church, 1509 Grand Avenue, Racine, WI 53403, on Tuesday November 13, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Father Ronald gramza officiating. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the services. Friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials in memory of Raymond have been suggested to the St. Richards of chichester Catholic Church.
