Randolph Holbus' Obituary
Racine - Mr. Randolph D. Holbus, 58, passed away due to complication from diabetes on Saturday morning, January 26, 2008.
Randolph Holbus was born in Racine to Rudolph and Virginia Mary (nee: Smith) Holbus on May 18, 1949. He lived in Racine all his life. In Racine, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Scholzen on November 6, 1976. She preceded him in death on July 9, 1991.
Mr. Holbus graduated from St. Catherine's High School. He went on to receive a degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He was employed by Triple-E in machine repair. In 1979, Mr. Holbus became blind due to diabetes but this did not discourage him from achieving his goals. He never gave up and accomplished everything he put his mind to. He was determined to live his life to the fullest.
Mr. Holbus was a very hard workingman. As a man of many trades, he enjoyed teaching and mentoring others in working on carpentry, mechanical, and electrical projects. He took pride in building his garage. Mr. Holbus was remarkable, working on these projects during his blindness. His passions were fishing and boating with his friends and family (A special thanks to Tim and Ed).
Randy is survived by his three children, Marie (Nathan) Gaines, Veronica Nelsen, and David Holbus all of Racine; five grandchildren, R.J., Tyanna, Kandice, Kaylee Gaines, and Tyler Nelsen; his father, Rudolph W. Holbus of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; nine brothers and sisters, Virginia Mary (Charles) Daceno, Margaret (Joseph) Conway, Connie (Charles) Hunn, Thomas (Emma) Holbus, Christopher (Daryl Ann) Holbus, Victoria Holbus, Philip (Jennifer) Holbus, Miriam (Mark) Delvaux, and Jerome (Hana) Holbus; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Mary Holbus and a sister, Rosemary Slesar.
