Randall "Puddin" Wayne Johnson's Obituary
Randall “Puddin” Wayne Johnson, 68, of Racine, WI, passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2025.
Born on August 16, 1956, in Marshall, Alabama to Erline Rochelle Johnson, Randy later moved to Racine, WI, where he graduated from Washington Park High School in 1974. On November 8, 1975, he married his soulmate, the late Lynn Johnson, at St. John Nepomuk Church, beginning a beautiful 50-year journey together filled with love, devotion, and shared memories.
Randy was an extraordinary man, known for his fun personality, sense of humor, caring nature, strong work ethic, outgoing spirit, stubborn streak, and most of all, his giving heart. He was truly a “jack of all trades,” having worked at Big Buck Building Center driving truck for nearly 20 years, and at Personal Inc. for the remainder of his career. After his “retirement,” he wanted to keep busy and worked at NAPA Auto Parts until his wife’s battle with dementia took over and he cared for her.
Randy was a compassionate man who loved his family deeply. He found joy in helping others. Randy’s love for the outdoors extended to their family land "up north," where he spent many happy days fishing, boating, hunting, and relaxing with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Randy was a “busy body” and was always tackling endless projects, helping others, and living life to the fullest.
In addition, Randy had a passion for bowling and was an avid bowler, well known in the bowling community, especially at Hillside Lanes where he, his wife, and kids were in leagues. His sense of humor and loving spirit were felt by most who knew him.
Randy cherished his late wife, children, grandchildren, and the many wonderful friends he met along the way.
He is survived by his three children: Dennis (Sarah), Greg (Lisa), and Rachel (Grant Tilot); grandchildren: Brian McCarthey (Bre Freitas), Abbie Johnson (Evan Kegel), Connor Johnson (Amelia Gaudesi), Kaleb “Bubba” Johnson, Leah Johnson, DJ Johnson, Jaiden Johnson, Mikey Freuck, Julie Freuck, and Ashley Freuck; great-grandson, Russell McCarthey; great-granddaughter, Lilli Burke; sister, Tammy Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who will miss him dearly.
Randy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynn Johnson, who passed on March 2, 2025, his mother, stepfather, and many other loved ones.
A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on May 6, 2025, with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the ceremony at 7:00 p.m. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are kindly appreciated to help cover the cost of a headstone honoring both Randy and his beloved wife, Lynn.
Randy’s legacy of jokes, love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
