Ramona Fuentes' Obituary
Racine – Ramona Fuentes, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.
Ramona was born on April 20, 1942, in Frontera, Coahuila, Mexico, to Rogelio and Porfiria (née Gonzalez) Menchaca. On May 3, 1961, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Rogelio Fuentes, in her hometown of Frontera. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.
A dedicated homemaker for many years, Ramona lovingly cared for her family before moving to Racine, Wisconsin. There, she worked at Warren Industries for ten years before her retirement. Her strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were evident throughout her life. She and her husband worked side by side on their chicken farm, where they raised chickens and sold eggs, embodying a life of simplicity, purpose, and devotion.
Ramona was also known for her remarkable cooking, sharing her gifts as a food merchant and filling her home with warmth, delicious meals, and the joy of togetherness. Her family especially cherished the love she poured into every dish. In her quieter moments, Ramona found peace and enjoyment in reading, a pastime she loved dearly.
Ramona had a deep and abiding faith and was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Racine Spanish Congregation. Her spiritual strength guided her life and touched all who knew her.
Above all, Ramona will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her kindness, her resilience, and the gentle strength that carried her through life. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and love that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her beloved husband, Rogelio Fuentes; her children, Juanita (Ezequiel) Mejia, Maribel Fuentes (Sergio) de López, Rogelio Alberto (Bertha) Fuentes, Claudia Fuentes, Edgard (Brenda L.) Fuentes, and Omar (Brenda) Fuentes; her 18 cherished grandchildren and 13 treasured great-grandchildren; her 15 dear siblings; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were blessed by her love.
Memorial services will be held as plans are finalized by the family.
May her memory bring comfort and peace to those who loved her, as her love will live on forever in their hearts.
