Peter Thomsen's Obituary
Mr. Thomsen, 90, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Harmony Living Center after a short illness. He was born in Denmark on Jan. 5, 1918 to the late Ludvig and Dagny Thomsen. He served with the 553rd 40 mm Anti-Aircraft Battalion as an Operations Sergeant stationed in Holland. He was united in marriage to the former Lucile Klingberg in Racine on Nov. 11, 1920 celebrating 66 years together.
He was employed at McQueen Insurance Agency as the office manager for 35 years. He was a very active member of Calvary Memorial Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lucile Thomsen of Racine; son, John (Sally), grandchildren, Rachel and Anna of Mishicot, WI, daughter, Shirley of Racine, brother, Olaw Thomsen, sister and brother-in-law; Irna (Jerry) Jorgensen of Waverly, IA, brother-in-law Ralph (Eva) Raynor of Mission Viejo, Ca. He was preceded in death by a sister Esther Raynor.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Nathan James officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Thomsen to Calvary Memorial Church have been suggested.
