Oliver Leon Street 's Obituary
RACINE – Oliver Leon Street, 68, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born to Oliver and Chloey (Whitt) Street in Panther, West Virginia on March 19, 1946.
Oliver was united in marriage to Jean Ann (Peltier) Street on December 17, 1966 in Racine. He worked for Jacobson Textron Inc as an Inspector for 26 years. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Some of Oliver’s favorite hobbies included playing Bluegrass music on his guitar with his family, as well as telling stories of old times and growing up in the Hills of West Virginia. He also enjoyed playing on the computer and talking over the internet.
Oliver is survived by his wife, Jean; four sons, William ( Cindy) Street, Robert Street, Donald (Jackie) Street, James (Sandra) Street; brothers, Dale (Debbie) Street, David (Cheryl) Street, and Tim (Sue) Street; sister, Donna Andersen; brothers-in-law, Mike (Sue) Pugh, Conrad Babilon; sister-in-law, Denise Street; best friend, Royce ( Mary Lou) Whitt; grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Kassie, Donald Jr, Cameron, Jayden, Isaac, Amelia and Isabella; great-grandson, Levi. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Chloey Street; stepfather, Sterling Whitt; brothers and sisters, Pauline, Gathern, Arlene, Ernest, Edward, and Ruth; half-sisters, Clara, State-Arie, Carma and Elva; and lifetime companion, “Buster.”
Visitation for Leon will be on Thursday, August 24, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home. The celebration of Oliver’s life will be on Friday, August 25, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Taylor Ave. Church of the Nazarene, 2100 Taylor Ave., Racine, 53403.
The family would like to give special thanks to the ICU staff, nurses and CNA’s at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospital and Home Hospice, for taking such great care of Oliver, talking with him and making him laugh.
