Oliver MacKnight's Obituary
Oliver "Mac" MacKnight, 93, passed away at Becker-Shoop Center on Monday evening, Dec. 1, 2008. He was born in Gladstone, Michigan on January 15, 1915, and lived most of his life in Racine. On May 10, 1941, he was united in marriage to Lily Highman at St. Rose Church. She preceded him in death on 2002
Oliver was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He worked for many years at the John Oster Mfg. Co. in Racine, and later for the Astronautics Corp. of America in Milwaukee, from which he retired.
Dear father of Mary (Earl) Jorgensen and Susan MacKnight (Jack Grimmer). Devoted grandfather of Sara Jorgensen and David Jorgensen (fianc?' Kate McCullough). Further survived by treasured family, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert, sisters Marie, Theresa, and Jeanette, infant son Thomas, and grandson-in-law Michael Klotz.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at a later date.
The family expresses deep gratitude to the staff of Becker-Shoop Center for their compassionate care during Dad's final illness, and requests that memorials be made to the Becker-Shoop Center 6101-16th St. Racine, WI 53406, in Oliver's name.
