Norman Charles Weitkum's Obituary
Racine-Norman “Norm” Charles Weitkum, 87, passed away late Sunday evening, November 15, 2020, at Kenosha Place.
Norm was born on January 30, 1933, to the late Gustave and Esther (nee Felbob) Weitkum in Racine. He was united in marriage to Beverly Roberts in July of 1960 in Racine. The two were married for 60 years until Bev’s passing in May of 2019.
Norm worked at S.C. Johnson as a chemist for 30 years. He enjoyed archery and was part of the S.C. Johnson Archery Club in his earlier days. When he was working, Norm was a member of the American Society for Quality Control. Also, in his earlier days, Norm enjoyed skiing and was a great swimmer. He loved playing cards and was always known as being a great host. Norm was known to be a jokester, cracking jokes any moment he could.
Left to cherish Norm’s memory is his son, Mark (Darbi) Weitkum; daughter, Christine Weitkum; grandsons: Michael, Steven, and Charles; granddaughter, Erin; three great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie (Edie) Weitkum of Caledonia; sisters: Jean Dykstra and Doris Hancock; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Norm is preceded in death by his wife, Bev Weitkum; brothers: Glenn and Clifford “Kip” Weitkum; and grandson, Joshua.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM. A few words will be said about Norm at 1:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday after the visitation. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, only 50 people will be allowed to enter the funeral home at a time. Guests may be required to wait outside until others leave the funeral home. Anyone planning on attending Norm’s services will also be required to wear a face covering/mask upon entering the funeral home along with following social distancing guidelines. Inurnment will follow immediately after services at the funeral home. Norm’s final resting spot will be with his wife, Bev, at West Lawn Memorial Park.
