Nilda Esther Virella-Rivera's Obituary
Racine – Nilda Esther Virella-Rivera, 81, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant.
Nilda was born on September 19, 1944, in Juncos, Puerto Rico, to the late Anibal Virella and Josefina Rivera. From an early age, she showed the strength and determination that would define her entire life. Nilda was a fighter—resilient, spirited, and unafraid to speak her mind.
Family was always at the center of Nilda’s world. She helped raise many people throughout her life and loved her family with a fierce devotion. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother whose guidance, love, and warmth will be cherished forever. Nilda also enjoyed cooking, and her family adored the meals she prepared. Known for her sass and her love of dancing, she brought joy, energy, and laughter to those around her.
Nilda will be deeply missed by her loving children: Miguel Osorio-Virella, Brenda Osorio-Virella, Nilda Osorio-Virella, and Thurman Osorio-Virella; her grandchildren: Nildyann, Brikdelys, Kidanny, Joshua, Wesley, Shamilka, Paola, Aneudy, and Yahir; and her 18 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Maria Virella and Gloria Virella, and her cousin, Geovanni Virella.
Per Nilda’s wishes, no services will be held.
