Nancy Jane (Welch Harcus) Zabler's Obituary
Mount Pleasant - Nancy Jane (Welch Harcus) Zabler, 92, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Ascension All Saints.
Nancy was born on January 7, 1932, to the late William and Charlotte (nee McSherry) Welch in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to hard work and service, employed by Walker Manufacturing, Tenneco Automotive, and American Family Insurance before her well-deserved retirement in 2001.
Nancy was a devoted member of the First Church of Christ Science and belonged to Mother Church in Boston, demonstrating her deep faith throughout her life. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed sewing and gardening, finding joy and peace in creating beauty around her. She was passionate about baseball and rarely missed a chance to attend games. She was an avid supporter of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers, cheering them on season after season. Above all, Nancy was a loving and caring person, always prioritizing her family. She took great pride in caring for her children, and her nurturing nature was felt by everyone who knew her.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her children, Andrew Zabler of Madison, WI; Stephen Harcus (Sunshine Jansen) of Madison, WI; Lindsay Zabler Webb of Racine, WI; and Scot Harcus of Cuba City, WI; grandchildren: Dale, Robert, Adrian, Cameron, Matt, Josh, Craig, Ryan, and Maureen; eight great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her grandson, Anthony Zabler; sister, Dorthy (George) Norris; and brother, Robert Welch.
Private services for Nancy will be held. Nancy’s final resting place will be next to her grandson, Anthony, at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine.
