Nancy Jean Schultz's Obituary
Nancy Jean Schultz (née Bertram), 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Kenosha.
Born on January 11, 1939, in Racine, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Rose (née Borup) Bertram. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, George Schultz, on June 6, 1958, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Racine. Together they shared many wonderful years of marriage until George's passing on May 18, 2018.
Nancy dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and the wonderful aromas of her baking and cooking. She also shared her talents as a cook at the Gethsemane Senior Center.
A woman of faith and service, Nancy devoted more than five decades to teaching Sunday School at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. She also faithfully served as treasurer of the church Circle, was an active member of the Racine County Homemaker Council and volunteered her time as an election poll worker.
Nancy found joy in sewing, reading, and sharing her love of books with her grandchildren, whom she treasured beyond measure. She was a hands-on grandmother who delighted in spending time with each of them, creating lasting memories through countless activities and adventures. More than anything, Nancy will be remembered for her positive attitude and her famous "gift of gab."
She will be dearly missed by her loving children, Gary (Linda) Schultz, Diane (Tim) Beres, Lynne (Tom) Blodgett, and Eric (Renata) Schultz; her cherished grandchildren, Alissa, Aaron, Katelyn, Jacob, Ellen, Kari, Staci, Jack, Tad, Carolyn, and Kathryn; her ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Debbie (Dick) Hitzelburger; her sister-in-law, Alice Bertram; and many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Schultz, and her brother, Mike Bertram.
A visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Private inurnment will be held at Mound Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the donor's favorite charity.
