Racine-Mrs. Nancy J. (nee: Sorenson) Ferg, 91, passed away on March 24, 2012 at Elizabeth Residence in Racine.
Nancy was born in Racine to the late Peter and Minnie (nee: Bradley) Sorenson on July 19, 1920. In March of 1939, she was united in marriage to Harold E. Ferg. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1980. Over the years, she had been employed at Badger Shirt Manufacturing, Hamilton Beach Manufacturing, and Wisconsin Small Motors (WSM).
Nancy was best known for her warm personality and friendly smile. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, and loved to knit, crochet, solve crossword puzzles, and go for long car rides. She especially loved spending time with her family and made many friends wherever she went.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Phyllis (Kenneth) Buss of Hudson, Fla.; son, Dennis (Marilyn)Ferg; and two daughters-in-law, Marlene Ferg and Mardell Ferg, all of Racine; 17 grandchildren Jerry (Selena) Ferg II, Liz Hogan, Bunnie Ferg, Richard Ferg, Ronald (Julie) Ferg, Cathleen Ferg, Cindi (Kevin) Bohn, Ken Buss, Scott Buss, Mike Buss, Bridget (Keith) Stanley, Sarah (Matt) Fonk, Jennifer (Ben) Vogelman, Christie (Nick) Schmidt, Jared (Heather) Ferg, Melinda (Joel) Espinoza, and Haley Ferg; 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Ferg; three sons, Gerald Ferg, Ronald Ferg, and Harold Ferg Jr.; grandchildren, Douglas Ferg and Colleen Ferg; great-grandchild, Morgan Schmidt; great-great grandchild, Zachary Jensen; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services in honor of Nancy will be held at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 322 Ohio St., on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. James Barsch officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Wilson Funeral Home from 5-7:00pm and at church on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service. Memorials in honor of Nancy may be directed to St. Monica's Senior Home and the Elizabeth Residence.
