Michael was born in Chicago, IL on April 13, 1949 to Tony and Mildred (nee Dub) Vachalik. On November 23, 1974, Michael was united in marriage to Kathleen Galbraith at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Racine.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army as a helicopter door gunner. He was trained as a mechanical engineer, and he worked at Allen Bradley Corporation and Modine Manufacturing.
Michael was an active member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church. He was proud to serve the church and was a sound coordinator for church services, weddings, and funerals. Michael was very close to his grandchildren.
