Racine – Michael Christopher Martinez, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Michael was born on August 4, 1987, in Racine to Noe Carreno and Angelita Martinez. A lifelong resident of Racine, Michael was known for his big heart, generous spirit, and the bright smile that rarely left his face. Whether you knew him for a moment or a lifetime, Michael made an impact—always ready to help, always lifting others up, and always putting his family and friends before himself.
Michael worked as a cook at several local restaurants, including Infusino’s and Roma Lodge, where his work ethic and easygoing personality made him a favorite among coworkers and customers alike. Most recently, he was employed at Target.
He had a deep love for his family, especially his children, nieces, and nephews. Nothing brought him more joy than being with them. He also enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with his many friends, who will remember his laughter, loyalty, and constant support.
Michael will be deeply missed by his beloved children: Michael Martinez, Caleb Martinez, and Max Martinez; his loving mother, Angelita Martinez; his father, Noe Carreno; and his siblings: John Bernay, Daniel Martinez, Laurie Vela, Theresa Martinez, Jacob Martinez, and Vicky Carreno. He is also survived by his aunts: Linda Martinez and Mary Jane Martinez; his uncle, Geraldo Carreno; and his special friends: Izac Ordonez, Ruben Cuevas, Reynaldo “ReyRey” Reyes, and Deandre McCollum; and Michael also leaves behind many cousins and extended family who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benito and Angelita Martinez; his aunt, Sue Vela; uncles: Luis Martinez, Armando Martinez, Albert Martinez, and Tony Martinez; and his cousin, Sandy Barroso.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
