Michael Barrows' Obituary
Michael C. Barrows, 33, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, after a strong battle with depression. Mike was born in Racine on August 12, 1973, to Anne and the late Larry Barrows. He was a 1991 graduate of Lutheran High. After several years of over-the-road semi-driving and various positions in the transportation business, he was President of Barrows Specialized Freight, working with his father. The business closed in March of 2006 following the death of his father. Mike loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors, cooking, baking, and playing cards with his family. Mike was generous and kind and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was the "ultimate" uncle to his niece, Makayla, whom he loved dearly. Mike is survived by his mother, Anne Barrows; his brother, Jeffrey (Katie) Barrows; paternal grandmother, Loretta Barrows; and his niece, Makayla Barrows, all of Racine. Aunts, uncles, cosines, other relatives, and many friends also survive. Mike was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Christ and Elith Ramig; and by his paternal grandfather, Ralph Barrows. Funeral services will be held in the Wilson Funeral Home on Monday evening, October 23, 2006, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Albert Guetzlaff officiating. Private Burial services for the family will be held later at Graceland Cemetery. Friends and relatives may meet with the family in the funeral home on Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
